Tax Certiorari

These days, taxes are higher than ever and property taxes in Westchester County are amongst some of the highest in the nation. Did you know that you may be paying more than your fair share in taxes? You can dispute your taxes and have your property tax payments lowered. Property taxes are based on an assessment of your property’s worth, a decision made by your local municipalities. If your property is over assessed, you are paying too much in taxes.

What can you do about this? Through a process called Tax Certiorari, you can dispute your assessment. We will prepare documents to present to the local municipality, explaining why we feel your property has been unfairly assessed. If we successfully argue your case, your property taxes will be lowered.

We only collect a fee from you if your taxes are successfully lowered. Our fee is a percentage of the money we have saved you, plus any appraisal and/or court filing fees. We have contracted with a local appraisal to get you the best appraisal price. If we are unsuccessful, there is no fee for our legal services.
